Having started 2019 with Hogan’s Height winning on 1st January for Foxtrot Racing, ridden by Page, it was fitting that we ended 2019 with Anythingforlove winning today for Foxtrot Racing and once again ridden by Page!
Anythingforlove wins her bumper on racecourse debut.
Anythingforlove was making her racecourse debut today, and she travelled through the race well and stayed on strongly to win what looked quite a competitive bumper on paper. She is a half-sister to the Gold Cup winner, Sizing John, so she looks to have a bright future when she goes jumping next season. In the meantime, we’ll look to win another bumper with a penalty this season.
I was pleased to see Battleofthesomme run well to be 3rd today – the handicapper rather crucified him for winning a couple of small races but he showed he can win again once the handicapper relaxes his grip again!
So that’s it for 2019, and I can safely say that it has been a great year for us all at Folly House. We’ve had 52 winners this calendar year, with the highlight being winning the Grand Sefton over the Grand National fences. However, we have some really promising novice hurdlers this season and I hope our luck can continue through to the spring festivals now. Let’s hope for a lot of fun and success in 2020.
