It was lovely to see Guinness Affair notching up his fourth win on the bounce earlier this month, when winning at Stratford.  Although, the race didn’t quite go to plan, he still jumped well and dug deep to win under another lovely ride from Gavin.  He has now won 7 of his 10 career starts, and there should be a lot more to come from him especially when he goes up in trip, and I’d love to aim him at the Grade 2 Rising Stars Novice chase in November.

Guinness Affair wins his fourth novice chase on the bounce.

On the same card, Donnie Azoff defied a penalty to win a Class 3 novice hurdle under an enterprising ride from Gavin.  ‘Donnie’ was running for a new partnership, and it’s great to welcome the ‘Blazing Blues and Twos’ to Folly House and celebrate a winner with their first runner.

Donnie Azzoff initiates a double on the day by winning the Class 3 novice hurdle.

Having been runner up on his hurdling debut, Climbing was only beaten a length when 4th last week at Uttoxeter.  He’s picked up a handicap mark now, and we’ll send him novice chasing where I’d like to think he’ll improve.

It was nice to see College Oak finish 3rd last week at Worcester under our conditional jockey Will Featherstone, who was also 4th on Coastal Sun too.

There isn’t a great deal of jump racing in September, but we’re still very busy at home as the workload goes up a notch.  We’ve started some faster work, and there is plenty of schooling taking place too, so the excitement levels are raising with October just around the corner now…..
