2nd December 2014 - Monbeg Theatre scores under a penalty

Monbeg Theatre scored impressively on Saturday at Towcester. He won the EBF novice hurdle under a penalty and in turn qualified for the final at Sandown in March. I wasn’t keen to run him in heavy ground on such a stiff track, but he did it with consummate ease, and in turn looked the progressive horse we have always thought him to be. We’ll give him a bit of a break now and look to bring him back in February – we can then decide if we want to aim for the final or head to the Festival with him.
