We have just about come back down to earth after bagging our first Cheltenham Festival winner with Present View last Tuesday. ‘Elvis’ as we call him at home has come out of the race really well and now deserves a good holiday. Jamie and I feel like we need a good holiday too after all the celebrating!!
It has been a real joy riding out in the sunshine recently wearing normal kit rather than our waterproofs that had become our daily wear during the days and weeks of non-stop rain. The horses certainly seem to have noticed that spring is in the air and are enjoying a bit of sun on their backs.
The Cheltenham festival this year was as always, a fantastic four days of racing. We certainly saw both the highs and low too both on the horse and jockey front, so it makes us all appreciate it when both horse and jockey come home from a race safe and sound. We all wish those jocks that were injured swift recoveries and look forward to seeing them back in the saddle. Lucy
