With all of this snow and frost, there hasn’t been much racing this week….however I am pleased to report that all of our horses have been out and exercised, and that is all thanks to our wonderful team of staff who have worked with a smile on their face through all of it.
Folly House in the snow.
We had our first runners for a week on Monday and Midnight Chill ran well to be 2nd but unfortunately his normally excellent jumping let him down this time. He’s won two novice chases this season and has now been 2nd on his last two runs, and I think there is more to come from him in time and when he goes up in trip too.
We head to Huntingdon and Doncaster tomorrow with two decent chances. Thistle Do Nicely runs in a handicap for the first time and we step him up in trip too. He won his two novice hurdles well before finishing 4th in a Grade 2 behind Angels Breath, and then he was 2nd under a double penalty. His opening mark looks fair, and he shouldn’t be too far away as long as the ground doesn’t turn too soft. Meanwhile Dans Le Vent runs the Challenger Series Qualifier that Three Ways won a couple of years ago. He should improve for a set of blinkers and has the ability to win this before we head to the Festival for the Pertemps Final.
