It was fabulous to see Tractor Fred bolting up at Plumpton yesterday under a really positive ride from Page Fuller. He had been a little frustrating this season, but I had been running him on bottomless ground, and he looked to really appreciate the slightly better ground yesterday. However, having won by 24 lengths he might have to run again next week providing he comes out of the race well. I was thrilled for his owner, Kate Buckett, who used to train him with her permit, and she has been very patient with him, and that has been rewarded.

It is wonderful to be heading into the Cheltenham Festival with the yard operating at a 40% strike rate in the last fortnight. Hogan’s Height runs tomorrow in the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase, and let’s hope we can emulate Tiger Roll by using this as a springboard to success at Aintree! Kiltealy Briggs will run in the Plate on Thursday as well, and he looks totally unexposed but is in a deep handicap. Let’s dream of adding another Festival winner to our tally…..
