We had the BBC South Today news cameras down here on Wednesday to film our schooling morning. They played it last night on the 6.30pm news, it was quite fun and I will endeavour to put it on the website.
Our good run of form continued yesterday when Tea Caddy belayed her odds of 66-1 to finish 3rd (beaten 2 lengths) in the mares novice hurdle at Towcester. I was delighted for Richard and Jane Mathews, who own and bred her, and have been very patient with her. I was chuffed as the mare will only improve with a step up in trip; she was caught a little flat footed over this 2 mile trip, but stayed on very promisingly up the hill.
We run Miss Milborne today at Fontwell in the concluding bumper, which looks very competitive. However, the rain has finally fallen, and she should relish the conditions. This is a stepping stone to a season over hurdles, but I hope she should go close. I feel gutted for Adrian and Sara Brown who bought the mare and set up the small syndicate, as they will be on a plane to South Africa, and will therefore miss her first appearance in their colours.
