Oneofthesenights remained unbeaten when defying a penalty at Market Rasen yesterday under a very good front running ride from Gavin Sheehan. She has now won on the only three times she has seen a race track – one Irish Point-to-Point and now two novice hurdles. However, that only tells half the story as she won her point well, but then had a long time off the track with various injuries. Her owner has been very patient, and having spent a long period of time on Jamie Magee’s water treadmill (here in Lambourn) she arrived with me earlier this year in great shape. She improved both mentally and physically for her win at Ludlow, and looked very good yesterday.
Oneofthesenights remains unbeaten.
Both Adrrastos and Chapmanshype went very close last week to adding to our tally of winners, but were just touched off. Adrrastos was beaten less than a length off a career high mark, and should be able to win another nice handicap this summer. Whilst Chapmanshype was beaten only 2 lengths at Worcester, but seems to be improving all the time. He has been a bit of a ‘work in progress’ type of horse, but the jigsaw is now fitting together and he is showing greater maturity in running now and should improve further as a result.
We hosted our staff BBQ last week for the 'Racing Staff awareness week', and had a lovely evening. We have a great team here at Folly House, and there is a real buzz about the yard - exciting times.....
