With Christmas just around the corner, there was no better way to start off the festive period than with our 30th winner of the season, coming from Datsalrightgino at Cheltenham in the 2 mile Novice Hurdle. It was a great boost for the whole team to be back in the winners enclosure at Cheltenham, as it is always special to have a winner there, and well deserved as there is a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes! With Christmas fast approaching, things are starting to get even busier with plenty of entries coming up and runners heading off all over the country. Christmas is always a busy time in jumps racing, and it is testiment to the staff that keep going, working over both Christmas and New Year to ensure the show stays on the road.

The weather has certainly started to reflect the time of year, with snow attempting to stop action a few weekends ago, with blizzard like conditions proving difficult to ride out in. As usual the staff continued to work away, and we have been rewarded with some nice winners and solid runs from horses for the future. Kiltealy Briggs got his head infront at Haydock after a few good efforts, and Hogan's Height made it round the national fences once again in the Becher.

This weekend sees young amatuer Lily Jones taking up the ride on Between The Waters at Barbury point to point. This is Lily's first race ride, and we look forward to seeing how she gets on, having done plenty of schooling with Walter building up a strong relationship. Will Featherstone will also be there to show her the ropes with former inmates Minella Beat, who provided him with a nice win last time out, and Charlie George for his first run. We wish them both the best of luck!

In other news, if you are looking for a christmas presents have a look at our shop, where some lovely new merchandise has been added.

Finally, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, and New Year!
