We ended 2023 with 46 winners in the calendar year, and with 30 jumps winners on the board so far this season, with well over £430k in prize money, we sit in 14th spot in the trainer’s championship.

San Frandisco built on a really promising racecourse debut to win a bumper in effortless fashion at Haydock with our last runner of 2023.  He galloped on remorselessly through the heavy Haydock mud, under a motionless Daryl Jacob who suggested he reminded him of a young Bristol de Mai!

San Frandisco wins a bumper at Haydock to end 2023 in style.

Earlier in December, it was lovely to see Milldam getting his head in front down at Ffos Las in hock deep ground.  He relished the conditions to win for the second time for Neil Goulden and Kevin and Sue Hopgood.  He should continue to thrive in the deep winter mud.

We rattled the crossbar over Christmas with Roger Pol just denied at Ascot, Jack Sprat was 2nd at Uttoxeter, while Obsessedwithyou picked up some nice prizemoney when 2nd in a good race at Ludlow. Whilst, Regarde, Passing Well and Torneo all ran good races to be 3rd.

However, we ended the year with San Frandisco winning a bumper well, and we started 2024 with Bellas Bridge winning a bumper in style at Ludlow.  I’d have thought she will now step up in class and contest a Listed event at Sandown next month.

Bellas Bridge wins a bumper to start 2024 with the horses in great form.

I was delighted to see Midnight Centurion run so well to be 3rd on his comeback run from well over a year off, and he shouldn’t be too far away on his next start.  Whilst, Phone Home just bumped into one too good when 2nd again.  She should find an opening before too long.
