Since I last updated our blog, when we were flying high with an amazing sequence of wins, we've had 15 runners and 9 of them have been placed, so our horses remain in great form. We took Reves D'Amour up to Sedgefield for a conditional jockeys mares novice hurdle, where she won with her head in her chest. Gavin Sheehan was on board, and the fact it was a conditional jockeys race, it means we won't carry a penalty and so I hope she can win again before we head to the Mares novice hurdle final at Newbury in March, where she'll have a great chance.....so the first part of the plan has been successfully achieved.
Major Milborne made a really pleasing debut over hurdles at Lingfield to be 2nd, and looks to have a bright future, as has Royal Macnab who has had a few little wind problems, but ran a smashing race to be 3rd on his jumping debut. There is still half of him for sale, so do give me a call and come and see him if you are interested in a share....
Jean Fleming made her debut over fences and finished 3rd at Uttoxeter - she had to make her own running, and was still green in front, and so there should be more to come from her over fences. Present View ran a cracker yesterday at Bangor to be 2nd in the feature handicap chase. Unfortunately the ground turned soft and he just failed to see out the extended 3 mile trip in that ground. He is only 5 years old, so we'll just mind him this season really, and look to the future with him.
I was disappointed with Centoria in the mares bumper at Ludlow last week. She had finished 2nd and 3rd on her previous two starts and we quite fancied her chances. However, she swallowed her tongue so she had a valid excuse. We'll stick a tongue tie on her next time, and send her over hurdles. She an absolute natural jumper, and we should have plenty of fun with her. We are syndicating out 6th shares in her, and there are a couple of shares left......?!?
