Jean Fleming was sent off a warm favorite at Towcester yesterday but unfortunately could finish only 3rd.  However, I am really not too disappointed in her run yesterday, as I was always worried there wasn’t going to be any pace in the race. We had to make most of the running from the bottom of the hill to try and make it more of a stamina test, but it did turn into a sprint, and she is never going to win a sprint.....She only lost 5kgs, which is absolutely nothing, as she lost 14kgs when she won at Lingfield. This really shows that she didn’t have a hard race at all. She has had another run, and although we all know she is better than that, it was a false run race and she has still finished 3rd - she will certainly have learnt from the experience.....

Miss Milborne ran her usual game race at the festival on Tuesday to finish 23 lengths behind Quevega.  She was outpaced coming down the hill, but ran on well up the hill.  She was always going to find 2m4 too short, but it was a nice way to round off her season.  She has been a star for us this season, and she should be able to hold her own in novice chases next season.

Shinko Moon ran in the charity race yesterday at the festival.  Lucy Watson works for the Racing Post, and she has been riding out for us over the last few months.  She gave Shinko a lovely ride to finish 6th - and in turn gave Shinko a good racecourse gallop...  Lucy’s Mother has Sarcoma, which is a rare form of Cancer, and so she was riding in aid of Cancer Research.  If you’d like to sponsor her then please go to http://www.justgiving.com/Lucy-WatsonRP
