I am delighted that Git Maker ran a belter of a race (on unsuitably drying ground) to be 3rd in the Scottish National and the prizemoney took us over our previous best personal total of last season – another record season for the team, and with a lovely winner yesterday the momentum is rolling into the last week of the season, let’s hope that the form can continue…...

Git Maker is a galent 3rd in the Scottish National.

Having started the month with Golden Maverick wining the valuable Grey Bomber Series Final up at Musselburgh, I’ve been planning on sending him to the £100,000 novice hurdle final at Sandown on Saturday, and that really would be a great way to end another fabulous season. He was excellent at Musselburgh and really looks to be an improving young hurdler.

Golden Maverick wins the £30,000 juvenile final at Musselburgh.

It was lovely to see Hollygrove Cha Cha winning her second bumper yesterday at Hexham.  She quickened up nicely, but had to battle bravely inside the final furlong….and she was tough and brave.  Obviously, giving away a penalty is always tricky, and on a stiff track like Hexham on pretty soft ground too – it was hard work.  However, she showed different qualities than she had when winning at Stratford on debut, and she is a really exciting prospect going forwards into next season.

Hollygrove Cha Cha remains unbeaten with another bumper winner

We collected some valuable prizemoney up at Aintree’s Grand National meeting as Colonel Harry was placed in another Grade1, whilst La Marquise picked up some valuable ‘Black Type’ when 3rd in the Grade 2 Mares Bumper.  Having won two bumpers already this season, she looks another smart novice hurdler for next season.

Meanwhile Double Click was just touched off down at Chepstow under another lovely ride from Will Featherstone.  Click should be able to win again this spring before he goes novice chasing next season.  Up For Parol was also 2nd earlier this month, and is proving Mr. Consistent, and surely deserves to win again before long.

It was lovely to see Obsessedwithyou bounce back to form on some spring ground on Sunday when beaten less than a length.  Whilst, it was great to see Beholden back on track after a few niggly injuries, and he was only beaten 2 lengths at Wincanton in one of those military hurdle races.

I was pleased with Value Added’s hurdling debut when a mistake at the last cost her a place, but Gavin was easy on her after that, and she should be up to winning a novice within the next few weeks.

Now for the last few runners of the season……50 winners are in sight; I just wish Sir Chips was here to celebrate with us.  He was the most wonderful of owners, and a great friend to us all at Folly House. He will be missed dearly.
