Thebannerkingrebel enhanced his reputation with an authoritative victory in a Listed Novice Hurdle at Haydock on Betfair Chase day on Saturday.  In turn moving us onto 36 winners for the season, which is our best ever total and there are 5 months of the season still to go.  It has been an incredible season to date and all credit must go to our wonderful team of staff.  We have a really strong team of horses now and a wonderful bunch of incredibly loyal owners, many of whom have been with us since day 1.  Long may the luck continue…..

Thebannerkingrebel wins a Listed Novice and brings up winner no.36 for the season.

Having won two novice hurdles earlier this season, Thebannerkingrebel fell at the last earlier this month when looking to have the race at his is mercy under a double penalty.  He bounced back from that fall and after plenty of schooling back at home he ran out an easy winner of this Listed prize.  He was a bit careless at Wetherby, but was a bit careful at Haydock on Saturday (bar the 2nd last) and I think there is still more improvement to come from this incredibly talented individual.  We’ll look to go to the Grade 2 Rossington Main back at Haydock on 18th January 2020 and then onto the Supreme Novices at the Cheltenham Festival…..the dream is alive.

Meanwhile, bumper winner College Oak was 2nd on his hurdling debut at Ffos Las last week.  He jumped well, but was a bit keen early on and showed signs of greenness throughout the race, so he will improve for that experience and I’d like to think he can win his novice hurdle before progressing.  Another who will improve is also a 4-year-old called Mustang Alpha who was 3rd on his hurdling debut at Huntingdon over the weekend.  He is a big baby, but I like him and think he’s one who will keep progressing throughout this season and beyond.
