Thankfully we got back racing again last week following 10 days of no racing due to the big freeze up, and we resumed with a nice winner as Git Maker continued his progression in novice chases, and two more winners today takes our career total to 350 winners.

It was lovely to see ‘The Git’ as he is affectionately known, winning again at Catterick last week.  He has now won 5 of his career 8 starts, and looks to be an improving young novice chaser.  We’ll see where we go from here, but there should be a very decent staying handicap chase in him before long, and we might think about the Midlands National for him.

Both Colonel Harry and Passing Well deserved to win again this afternoon at Newcastle.  They both won maiden hurdles before finishing 4th in the Grade 1 Tolworth, and the Grade 1 Challow respectively.  They defied those penalties to win pretty impressively today, and now they can both go back up in class again.  We might look at the Grade 2 at Kelso in early March for Colonel Harry, whilst there is a Grade 2 at Haydock which might suit Passing Well.

We had a roller-coaster of ride on Saturday as Datsalrightgino was 2nd at Cheltenham and Park This One was 4th in a Grade 2…..but poor Ga Law took a crashing fall at the last when looking like had every chance of winning the £100k Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster under a welter burden of top weight and defying a mark of 150.  Thankfully, he’s ok bar a few knocks and we live to fight another big day.  Datsalrightgino ran a belter to be 2nd in the novice handicap at Cheltenham, and he appreciated going up to 2m4 here, and he might be one to think about a run in the Plate at the Festival.

Of our other recent runners, I was pleased with both Ellie’s Sister and Doc McCoy who were both placed in a bumper.  The Doc looks a really lovely young, raw individual, who has a bright future.  Whilst, Ellie is a really tough mare, who will be winning before long.  There are some shares available in her syndicate who lease her from a stud – so it’s a very affordable way into ownership, so do get in touch if you are interested in joining in on the fun.
