We've had a busy week at home this week, but only had 2 runners on the track.  El Diego ran his usual game and consistent race today at Exeter - we stepped him up in class and distance and ran him in the 4 mile Devon Marathon.  He lost a few vital lengths down the back, before staying on really well up the home straight.  We think his wind is just catching him out, and so we have booked him in for a minor wind op on Monday.  He'll be back cantering in a week and then we'll look to run him in all these stamina sapping events, and I am sure one will fall his way before the season is out.  Jamesson ran in a bumper at Hereford on Wednesday, and was a bit outpaced turning into the straight - he did have a good blow as well, and I think the run will have brought him on enormously.  He'll go over hurdles now and begin to step up in trip - he's a smashing 3 mile chaser in the making.

I popped into Coln Valley Stud yesterday with Jane Laing to have a look at a gorgeous 2 year old filly by Kayf Tara out of an Anshan mare.  She is from the smashing family of Ringaroses, and is a half sister to Cardinal Rose and Cinderella Rose - I think the Laings are going to lease her for next season.  It is great that we are really filling up our yard with quality horses now, and the future is looking exciting.....
