2nd January 2015 - a New Year celebrated with another winner

What better way to start 2015, than with a winner – Souriyan was impressive when bolting up at Exeter yesterday. He was very professional, travelled well, jumped nicely and neatly, and was unflustered when others in the race got in his way.  He hit a bit of a flat spot rounding the final turn, but came straight back on the bridle and quickened up well between the last two flights - the only anxious moment came when he saw the photographer after the last! As so many ex flat horses do, he improved for his first spin over hurdles and appreciated the more galloping track. We’ll look to defy a penalty before thinking about stepping him up in grade, but I hope the Fred Winter may come into the equation at the Festival.

Unfortunately Tea Caddy didn’t follow suit, but I hope the handicapper gives her a bit of a break now, and we’ll put some head gear on for her next start – we should then see her competitive again.
