Sunday 19th January 2020 - a frustrating outcome to the Grade 2 Supreme Trial.

A frustrating week here really as despite having our 43^rd winner of the season, Thebannerkingrebel was beaten into 3^rd yesterday under a 5lbs penalty in the Grade 2 Supreme Trail at Haydock in unfortunate circumstances.  He was beaten less than 2 lengths having been short of room up the run in when coming with a renewed challenge, regrettably the stewards left the result unaltered.  Interestingly the race was run in the exact same time as the champion hurdle trial over the same course and distance and we carried five pounds more than the winner or that race too…….so although it was a frustrating outcome, the dream is still alive as on weights we come out the 'moral victor'.  We'll now consider the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury where he'll escape a 5lbs penalty and then onto the Supreme Novices at the Cheltenham Festival.
