I am delighted to say that we've had a great week as little Arthur was born on Wednesday morning and thankfully both he and Lucy are now back at home and doing well. The arrival home of Arthur seemed to signal a change of luck as Kassis went in up at Bangor the same day to end a frustrating 5 weeks for us where we missed out on a few winning opportunities.

Having endured a frustratingly lean spell were plenty of our horses have been placed but have just failed to win, it was a relief to get back on the right track as Kassis fought out a well deserved win. The handicapper can’t be overly harsh and she should keep progressing.

Of our other recent runners, I thought Ebadani made a highly promising hurdling debut when 4th at Huntingdon. He should appreciate a step up in trip and looks an exciting recruit. Unfortunately Our Reward was bitterly disappointing at Bangor having run such a great race on debut, but he’s come home lame and so he’ll need a bit of time to get over that. It was good however, to see Rhythm Star finishing 3rd on her chasing debut and she should build on that, Zadok showed promise to be 4th on his bumper debut and I was very happy with Orchard Park who also finished 4th on his bumper debut under our young conditional jockey, Graham Carson – who is Willie’s Grandson.
