Although we’ve not had much racing this month, it’s been another good month for the team, with two more winners as our prizemoney moves past £200,000 for the season, as we continue to sit in 5th position in the championship.

It was lovely to see that our very first ‘winter runner’ was a winner, as Idy Wood won well at Uttoxeter back over hurdles.  He won two novice chases last season but looked to really enjoy himself back over hurdles and that should set him up nicely for a crack at the Silver Trophy at Chepstow.  Donnie Azoff was 3rd in the same race under a nice ride from Izzi.

I was thrilled that Lady Tadita maintained her unbeaten record as she supplemented her debut bumper win, by winning on her debut over hurdles at the weekend.  She jumped nicely and quickened up in the style of a really smart horse, and she looks a really exciting youngster.  We’ll look to defy a penalty with her and gain more experience, before we go up in class.

It was a shame Ride Like A Girl made a mistake at the 2nd last on her hurdling introduction, as she was just looking quite threatening, but the mistake cost her valuable momentum, and she finished a fast-finishing 3rd.  This bumper winner can surely gain compensation on her next start.

On the same card, Datsalrightcharlie was 2nd under the penalty he picked up for winning at Huntingdon in the spring.  He looks a lovely big chaser for the future, so we’ll abide ourselves with patience and let him develop this season.

Of our summer jumpers that have been in action this month, they’ve all been placed as we’ve rattled the crossbar!  Obsessedwithyou has won two novice chases earlier this summer but she probably ran a career best when 2nd in a handicap at Uttoxeter, and has been nudged up another 1lbs!  Whilst Doc McCoy also ran a career best at Bangor to be 2nd and he too has been hiked up 3lbs for his efforts.   Thankfully the handicapper hasn’t touched Hope Rising who was also 2nd at Newton Abbot earlier this month, and she will now head to the 4-year-old handicap at Chepstow.  Roger Pol ran a belter to be 3rd under top weight, and he can hopefully win again this autumn before he has a well-deserved winter holiday.
