My name is Sean Clarke, and I grew up in Devon, where my love for racing began at a young age. Horses and the racing world have always been a huge part of my life, and from the moment I started working in yards and going racing, I knew it was something I wanted to dedicate myself to. I’ve now been involved in the sport for six years, during which time I’ve been lucky enough to gain a wide range of experience both on and off the track.

I started out riding as an amateur, which I did for three years. Those years were a massive learning curve and gave me the foundation and experience I needed to take the next step in my career. I then rode as a conditional during the 2024/25 season, which was an incredible experience and something I’ll always be proud of. Like many riders, I faced challenges along the way, particularly with my weight and over time, I found myself falling a bit out of love with the day-to-day demands of race riding.

Even so, my passion for the sport never faded. I knew I wanted to stay in racing, but I also wanted to find a new path where I could keep learning, developing, and contributing in a different way. I’ve always loved the training and management side of things, seeing the horses progress at home and on the track, and understanding what it takes to get the best out of each individual.

I’m incredibly fortunate that Jamie offered me the role of Assistant Trainer, and I’m genuinely excited to take on this next chapter. It’s a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a great team and continue learning from some of the best in the business. I’m looking forward to helping bring through some exciting horses and hopefully building on what promises to be a very strong season ahead.
