Sole ownership
Sole ownership involves an individual or family that will be closely involved in any decision making related to their horse. Choice of colours and naming of the horse (if not already named) will fall to you. The associated costs of the horse and its training will be your responsibility, yet so will all the profit!
Co-ownership/ syndicates

For a one off annual payment or a smaller monthly payment you will:

  • Be part of an exclusive ownership syndicate

  • Share all prize money won

  • Share in any sale proceeds if/when the horse is sold

  • Be able to visit your horse at the yard, watch it on the gallops and discuss plans with Jamie

  • Have information circulated to you about the progress and plans for your horse by your dedicated syndicate manager

  • Be able to enter the paddock on the race day and be there with Jamie and the jockey before the race, and when successful, you can greet your horse back into the winner's enclosure.

 

A syndicate can either LEASE or OWN their horse:

A syndicate that LEASES their horse only has to cover the training fees for the time that the horse is leased. This is usually either a season, or just a day. Leasing often occurs when a stud wishes to see some of their offspring run while not having the burden of training fees. This is obviously the cheaper option….!
 

A syndicate that OWNS their horse must pay* for the purchase of the horse, as well as covering the training fees. The syndicate can choose their own name, and design their own colours. The syndicate members can also share in the proceeds if/when the horse is sold.
 
Sales
Jamie would be delighted to visit the sales to purchase horses on behalf of customers or just help owners with their choices. One recent example of Jamie's purchasing success is Mighty Matters who he purchased on behalf of Lindsay Suenson-Taylor at the Doncaster Horses in Training sale, in May 2007. Having won his first two starts the Racing Post described the purchase as a “shrewd buy”…! Fingers crossed we can find some more…..!
