I was thrilled to see Our Reward win again on Wednesday at Southwell under a masterful ride from our 10lbs conditional Ben Hicks. In winning Ben has in turn lost the right to claim 10lbs and is now down to 7lbs. He is a lovely rider and joined our team at the start of this season, and is a huge asset to us not only at home, but also on the track. He is a talented rider and having ridden 2 winners for us already this season, I’d like to think the ball can keep rolling for him this season and beyond.
Our Reward has now won 5 races for us, and I was delighted for Heart Racing and especially Becky Bailey who has taken over the running of Our Reward from EPDS. He hadn’t really taken to chasing this summer but benefitted from returning to hurdles here and outstayed his rivals to win going away. He will be 20lbs better off over fences so we might have to find some smaller fences to take advantage of that weight allowance at some point this autumn.
