Thankfully our run of seconds came to an end today at Ffos Las where Batu Ferringhi won his novice hurdle in good style. He had finished 3rd on his first start for us two weeks ago, but had previously won 4 English point-to-points, and Brendan put his stamina to good use over 2 miles to win under a well judged ride. He is for sale so we'll look to put together a small syndicate for him.

Our horses are running well at the moment, but a run of three 2nds this week was getting slightly frustrating. Present View ran well on his chasing debut to be 2nd at Kempton on Monday, where he jumped supremely well but just got run out of it from the last. Reves D'Amour bumped into one too good at Towcester on Thursday, but she showed she shouldn't be far off putting her head in front. Tea Caddy also finished 2nd on Friday at Southwell on her first run in a handicap chase.

We didn't run Jean Fleming yesterday at Wincanton in the class 2 handicap as it wasn't soft enough. Miss Milborne won it last year in soft ground, but amazingly Wincanton has missed the rain this season, and so we'll keep Jean Fleming fresh to go chasing at the end of this month. Unfortunately Lemons Ground couldn't defy his penalty at Sandown yesterday, where he came up short. He won his bumper for us at Fontwell in May, and we'll go hurdling with him now, where he should be able to get his head back in front before long.
