Another couple of winners this week takes our total to 38 winners for the season, from just 50 horses in the yard.....It has been an incredible season to date and all credit must go to our wonderful team of staff.  We have a really strong team of horses now and a wonderful bunch of incredibly loyal owners, many of whom have been with us since day 1.  Now we’ve got to keep the momentum going through the depth of the winter, and into the spring.

Barrowlands lead from start to finish at Sedgefield on Tuesday to win his novice hurdle on his second start for us.  He was the replacement horse for Scorpion Sid, who died over the summer, so I was delighted for his owners. ‘Barrow’ improved for his seasonal debut and ran out a ready winner under a great ride by Gavin.

Thomas Macdonagh not only annihilated the opposition to win his novice hurdle in emphatic fashion earlier in November, but he followed up on handicap debut on Wednesday at Wetherby.  Both wins came under good rides from Page Fuller.  Thomas is improving at a rate of knots and looks ready for a step up in class.  However, his latest victory came in a conditional jockeys race, so he escapes a penalty and so can win again before going up in Grade.  We have always thought he was capable of performances like these, but he wasn’t really a bumper horse (2nd in two last season) and he needed the run on hurdling debut when he was 4th at Warwick on good ground.  I’d like to think he will be able to keep progressing over hurdles, but I can’t wait to see him over a fence next season on soft ground.
