I was thrilled to see Pacify win so comfortably under a penalty at Uttoxeter last week, to make it two wins from two hurdle runs for HRH The Duchess of Cornwall and Sir Chips Keswick.  He jumped really well, and looks a very useful hurdler.  We’ll plan a route forward with him now which might include a class 3 novice followed by a Listed event at Kempton in October, and then possibly a tilt at the Grade 2 Novice at Cheltenham in November.

Pacify defies a penalty to win comfortably.

Between the Waters was an honourable 2nd off a career high mark at Stratford on Sunday under a good ride from Page, who gets on very well with him.  He looks like he is improving and can win again this summer.

It was lovely to see Carntop back to form when 2nd this evening at Ffos Las.  He didn’t really take to chasing, but clearly enjoyed the switch back to hurdles, and he too should find an opening in the coming weeks.

Of our other recent runners, Three Ways and Irska were both 4th and the later looks the type to be a future 3-mile chaser, but needs to mature, strengthen and fill his frame beforehand, whilst Three Ways has been so consistent of late but needs a little bit of help from the handicapper.

Unfortunately, Our Reward tipped up at Ffos Las last week, when looking to hold every chance and whilst he has yet to win over fences, I am sure that its only a matter of time before he puts that record straight……
