Another week passes, and the sale season continues….Lucy and I popped over to Deauville by ferry on Tuesday evening for the Arqana sales which were on Wednesday and Thursday. We had another very successful sale, where we picked up a lovely 3 year old colt off the flat to go juvenile hurdling this season. Souriyan was bred by The Aga Khan, and so needless to say he is beautifully bred and is by Alhaarth out of a winning Red Ransom mare who is the half sister to the multiple winning hurdler, Serabad. He has had 5 starts on the flat, winning on 2 occasions and being placed in all his other 3 starts which earned him an equivalent flat rating of 93.
Deauville is just the most amazing pace – the food was delicious, the sales complex was stunning, and after the sale finished we even had a swim in the sea…!
Now its back to a bit of normality for a moment or two, and the horses are beginning to come back in thick and fast. Our dual bumper winner, Rhythm Star came back to Folly House today after her summer holiday, and Ethelred is coming back in early this week. The store horses we bought at DBS, Goffs, and Tatts are all now broken and being ridden away, and so its all go here…..with the excitement building for the coming season.
